Bristol Media is the largest creative network in the UK. They are an industry led organisation, whose primary role is to deliver projects, events and opportunities for their 3,500 strong membership.
Their mission is to support, develop and grow an exciting and competitive creative/media community in the city of Bristol, UK.
Bristol Media was started as a Government initiative, as funding came to a close, a new sustainable revenue model was needed to secure the future of Bristol Media. A strategy to migrate to a fee paying membership model was developed with specific revenue streams.
Independent customer research was required to confirm members needs, as part of strategy development process.
To supplement membership fees Bristol Media needed to access new tangible revenue streams from available Government funding, a potential funding stream was training, but what type of training did Bristol Media members require?
Bristol Media needed a Training Needs Analysis to confirm training needs of local companies/individuals within the media sector.
We passionately engaged with the project, we were really excited about finding the right knowledge to support Bristol Media’s strategy.
Once the overall strategic goal was confirmed, we developed the research plan, then engaged with media related companies and individuals within Bristol area, assessing their specific training requirements.
Specific actions included:
The new insight supported Bristol Media’s bid for Government funding, enable Bristol Media to become a training facilitator within Bristol, this produced a new revenue stream and contributed to Bristol Media’s survival.
